I Am Buraot

I got a call from a former comrade, they are now converging on the streets of the EDSA, waiting for the imminent yet another uprising to unfold.

I was inside the former US base where I currently hold my office. It was another period of turmoil and political uncertainty. Then Philippine President Erap Estrada is facing impeachment charges at the floors of the Senate.

I wanted to go to the capital, and join the ongoing protests. But something I felt at that time was out of line. The dreams of the first EDSA never faded. Simply because it never materialized. As we walk in the town square hand in hand, I could see my father’s face beaming with joy.

I think I was around four, maybe even less. I was wearing this shirt tailored to look exactly like  his. I could hardly remember the details but it reminded me of pineapples because of its color and its seemingly Hawaiian design.

Wearing identical shirts, I was his mini-me. And all three feet of me was walking as tall as him.

As you entredroppers already know, I was away, my laptop crashed, the sky fell, and world almost ended. And so I wasn’t able to update our list for quite a while.

All of my blog data went missing so I have to start from scratch again. I even had to ask our tech support the code for the script that I was using on the Entredropper page.

No, I didn’t run out of ideas, I just ran out reason why I needed to write them. I didn’t run out of fuel, I just ran out of will to drive. And at the outset I asked myself,  like I always did everytime I made my mark on something, why keep going?
