GMA’s State of the Nation Address: Sideswiping The Nation

Like most Filipinos abroad that are eager to hear Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s last State of the Nation Address, I camped up late at night watching ANC and the internet for it to come.

It was supposed to be her “last” address, her last time to speak before a joined house of the Philippine Senate and House of Representatives without actually resorting to convene it to a constituent assembly. People are just waiting for her to speak about her presidency’s alleged legacy. Continue Reading…

The Twenty-First List

Ok ok… I know that these kind of posts bore you. So you might want to skip it. Unless you are a fellow blogger who are just waiting for the backlinks that this site provides.

We just can’t seem to run out of “lists” can we? ‘Coz right now we are on our twenty-first set of our list of backlinks for those sites that have linked to us. Officially I can say that all our Entredropper batches are filled up to Batch 27.

Those sites listed on batches 1 thru 27 are now legit sites that have met our community’s requirements: a working entrecard widget, and our badge proudly displayed somewhere on their site. Continue Reading…

The Twentieth List

As I have discussed in an earlier post, spots on our Entredropper list have been opened because I have taken down-or at least put them last- the sites that have no existing backlinks. So instead of the full 30 batches with 300 sites listed, we are back to batch 27.

Batches after that still include some sites that are temporary there until I fill up the remaining spots. Continue Reading…

The Hump That Broke The Camel’s Back

the-camelIt was a desolate wasteland, a mix of hot sand and ragged dirt. There was no air except for the few occasional breezes that blow like hotter than summer.

From the broken cracks on the ground, you can see the scorching air rising up above it like debris trying to flee a burning magma. Even the smallest of flora have died from years of neglect from the heavens.

A lone camel came idling by. He is a dromedary, all the way from some mystic Arab lands. It had traveled the Great Plains, climbed past the edges of the everglades, and crossed the empty deserts. Continue Reading…

The Nineteenth List

We are now on our nineteenth part in a never-ending series of backlinks provided for those who have linked to us in the past week.

So far, the lists for our Entredropper batches have been “filled”. All of the 29 batches had been filled. The 30th batch If you might ask, I was saving for those complimentary sites that I personally love to visit. Be it a blogger I knew, or for whatever reason a site that I particularly like. Continue Reading…

The Dashboard

dashboard

I just thought I want to share some stuff that’s been on my dashboard and thank those who helped made this site where it is right now.

I started building up this site sometime last December 2008. Having had enough free practice using blogspot, I was swayed by fellow blogger friends to make my way to wordpress and have it hosted. Continue Reading…

A Twisted Case of Reward and Punishment

reward and punishment

As a Filipino working on a distant land, I am very much biased when it comes to fellow OFWs. Some people in the country look at us with joy, pride and gratitude for our collective part in the national economy. Some people from the bourgeoisie and hard-line nationalists view us as traitors and arrogant for leaving the country behind.

But that’s another matter.

What made me revel in those lines of thoughts was the recent case of May Vecina, the Filipina domestic helper who killed a 7 year old child In Kuwait. I was not aware of the case until my friend notified me about it and showed me the Inquirer story. Continue Reading…
